Our Best & Worst Family Travel Adventures: Episode 100

Family Travel Adventures Episode 100

As we celebrate our 100th episode of family travel adventures, we’re looking back at the extraordinary destinations, meaningful encounters, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences that have brought us closer as a family: like swimming with sharks in Bora Bora, exploring the Exumas by private speedboat, sailing with The Moorings, and road trips through Japan.

These trips reinforced our belief that the best travel isn’t about seeing everything, rather it’s about discovering what matters most to you, exploring at your own pace, and making every moment count.

Of course, not every adventure went according to plan. Some of our most unforgettable travel stories came with frightening moments and hard-earned lessons: a hospital visit in Mexico’s Riviera Maya with our young son, a cruise excursion that descended into chaos when our guides got into a knife fight while fellow travelers struggled in the water, and the tragic drowning of a swimmer in Hawaii. These experiences changed how we think about family travel safety, and also reminded us that even the most carefully planned vacation can take an unexpected turn. Looking back, we share the experiences we’d happily repeat, the ones we’d never choose again, and the practical lessons that have made us more thoughtful, prepared, and appreciative travelers.

✨ Join us for a very special milestone episode as we celebrate the best of the best—and the best of the worst—of our family travel adventures.
