Il Falconiere Cooking Class

Il Falconiere is a luxurious hotel located in Cortona, Tuscany, Italy, known for its exquisite cuisine and cooking classes. The hotel offers guests the opportunity to learn about traditional Tuscan cooking through hands-on experiences led by skilled chefs.

The cooking classes at Il Falconiere typically involve exploring local ingredients, traditional recipes, and techniques used in Tuscan cuisine. Participants often get to prepare several dishes, including pasta, sauces, appetizers, and desserts. These classes often take place in a relaxed and picturesque setting, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the culinary culture of Tuscany.

The experience begins in what can only be described as the epitome of a gourmet kitchen. A giant island sits comfortably in the center of the room with sink, stove and ovens nicely situated in the back of the room. Everything is prepared by hand, including the pasta, sauces and desert. The herbs, vegetables and other produce come fresh from their gardens, giving you an exceptional farm-to-table experience. What’s more, the wine that is grown on the estate flows freely and compliments each course beautifully.

The entire experience lasts several hours and culminates in a gastronomic experience as unique, enjoyable and memorable as the hotel itself. If the cooking class isn’t enough, the hotel also has a renowned restaurant, under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Silvia Baracchi, offering guests the chance to taste authentic Tuscan flavors at the highest level of gastronomy.

If you’re considering taking a cooking class at Il Falconiere, it’s advisable to check their website or contact them directly for updated information on class schedules, availability, and any specific offerings they might have during your intended visit.

Pizza & Gelato Cooking Class

When your travels take you to Florence, amidst the history and charm of the city, be sure to book a most memorable experience that involves Pizza and Gelato making at a Tuscan Farmhouse. This immersive experience takes you step-by-step through all you need to know to make authentic Italian pizza and gelato on a beautiful hilltop setting in a Tuscan estate.

The trio of chefs we had provided a fun hands-on environment that culminated in a 3-course feast of appetizers, pizza, and gelato, accompanied by a seemingly endless flow of wine and beer. Everything you prepare is made with the freshest ingredients straight from their garden.

The pizza and gelato making are certainly the highlights. And, speaking of gelato, you also get the added bonus of learning how to expedite the freezing process by using liquid nitrogen – if only for a brief sample! For the remainder of the home-made gelato concoctions, they are all placed in a freezer and timed to harden just at the conclusion of your main course.

When it’s time to make your pizza, you are greeted to a cornucopia of fresh toppings to tailor make the perfect pizza to your exacting tastes. Once you finish your masterpiece, a chef is on hand to “cook” your pizza in the wood-burning pizza oven. The finished product has to be – hands down – one of the freshest tasting pizza’s we’ve ever tried.

After gorging yourself on pizza, it’s time for some more wine or beer and gelato. By this time, the gelato is now at the perfect frozen state to be enjoyed, and enjoy it you will!

As the meal wraps, you can unwind with a glass of wine and enjoy the amazing hilltop vista that surrounds the farmhouse. As an added bonus you’ll receive a recipe booklet to take home and practice your newfound skills.
