Morning: Drive to the North Shore and take in the coastal scenery. Consider a swim or snorkel at Shark’s Cove only if conditions are calm and the entry suits your ability.

Shark’s Cove can be outstanding when North Shore conditions are calm, particularly in summer, but we do not consider it an automatic beginner snorkeling recommendation. Entry is rocky and conditions can change dramatically.

PLP TIP: Check the ocean that morning. If surf is elevated or the entry does not look comfortable for your ability, choose another beach.

On our visits, we’ve seen colorful fish and turtles here. Visibility and currents vary, and the North Shore can have powerful surf during fall and winter.

Afternoon: Explore the charming town of Haleiwa, where you can enjoy lunch at a food truck and shop for local crafts.

Evening: End your day at the iconic Sunset Beach, where you can witness breathtaking sunsets before heading back to your accommodation.

Day 4: Nature and Hiking
